What do I need to register for IELTS?
If you are a Cameroonian citizen, you can use the Original National ID Card or the Passport. RECEIPT OF ID CARDS ARE NOT ACCEPTED.
If you are not a citizen of Cameroon, please use your passport to register for IELTS.
Remember to bring the same form of identification you used to register, to your IELTS test. Failure to do so will mean you will not be permitted to take the test.
How do I make payment after completing my registration?
Payment can be made online with a bank card when you register. You can also register offline and pay via bank transfer or direct deposit.

How do I prepare for the IELTS test?
Once you register and pay for IELTS with the British Council, you can access IELTS Ready Premium, our most comprehensive IELTS preparation course, for free. Complete your registration well in advance so you have more time to take advantage of the free preparation course.

When will I get my IELTS results?
When you take IELTS on Computer, your results will become available in 1-5 calendar days.
When you take IELTS on Paper, your results will become available 13 calendar days after you have taken the test.
How do I get my IELTS results?
Please visit our Test Taker Portal to preview your IELTS Test Report Form.
When will I get a physical copy of my results?
If you have taken IELTS on Computer, you can download the electronic version of your Test Report Form (eTRF) from the Taker Portal 1-5 days after your test. IELTS on Computer Test Report Forms are only available online.
If you have taken IELTS on Paper, a physical copy will be issued after your results are published on the Test Taker Portal. The Test Report Form will be delivered to your test centre via courier and you will be informed by email to collect in person. To collect your certificate in person at the test centre, bring the International Passport or National ID Card you used to take the exam on the test date.
Can someone pick up my Test Report Form on my behalf?
Third-party collection is allowed. However, the third-party must bring the following documents along:
- The procuration letter must be filled in and signed ONLY by the candidate. The signature must match the candidate’s signature they provided on the test date. The candidate should ensure that the following information is correctly written on the procuration letter:
- candidate full name,
- candidate ID/Passport number submitted on test date,
- correct exam date,
- candidate exam number,
- the third-party full name and their ID number.
- The candidate’s ORIGINAL ID or International Passport used during the test date, should be presented for the collection. Coloured copies may be accepted.
- The authorised third-party must bring an original verifiable ID Card or passport and a photocopy will be taken for our records.
- As your results are confidential, the third-party should not be a test taker of the same exam session and type.
Can I send a courier to collect my results?
Collection by courier delivery service (DHL or any other courier delivery service) can be arranged as long as the requirements above are followed.
Please note that the British Council does not manage the delivery process with the chosen courier service. It is the candidate’s responsibility to directly coordinate with the service provider and make the necessary arrangements for the collection and delivery of their test certificate.
Can I get my results over phone or via email?
IELTS results will not be disclosed over the phone or through email. Please visit our Test Taker Portal for a preview of your results.

How do I send my results to an institution?
We will send your Test Report Form (TRF) directly to the institutions you are applying to, whether you have taken a computer-delivered or a paper-based test. Be sure to request that we send your Test Report Form on your behalf.

What does my IELTS score mean?

How long are my IELTS results valid for?
Whether you have taken IELTS on Computer or IELTS on Paper, organisations will usually not accept your results if they are more than two years old.
Can my test be re-marked?
If you did not receive the score you expected, you can apply for your test to be re-marked. This is called an Enquiry on Results (EOR). You can choose which test sections you want to be re-marked and will need to request this at the test centre where you took the test.
When and how can I get my IELTS test re-marked?
You must apply for a re-marking no later than six weeks after the test date, regardless of whether you have taken IELTS on Computer or IELTS on Paper. Request an Enquiry on Results by visiting the link below:
When will my re-mark request be completed?
Your Enquiry on Results result will normally be available in 2 to 21 days, depending on several factors including the number of sections requested for remark.
Can I re-take my IELTS test?
There are no restrictions on re-taking IELTS Academic, IELTS for UKVI or IELTS General Training. You can book a new test as soon as you feel you are ready to do so. However, if you have passed IELTS UKVI Life Skills, you will not be able to retake the test until your results expire.
